Recreation Therapy

A recreation therapist is a credentialed (from NCTRC) allied health professional who uses recreation and activity-based therapies to meet the individual health and wellness goals of the Veteran served.

Fitness Programs

Fitness offerings can include functional fitness, strength training, group fitness, music-based fitness, and aquatic-based programs. Programs offered will differ by VA location.

Team River Runner is a National program that introduces Veterans to kayaking.

National Veterans Golden Age Games– Compete in air rifle/pistol, badminton, basketball, boccia, bowling, cornhole, cycling, disc golf, fitness/crossfit, horseshoes, nine ball, pickelball, power walking, shuffleboard, swimming, table tennis, track and field.

National Veterans Wheelchair Games – air rifle/pistol, archery, fitness, basketball, e-sports, boccia, bowling, disc golf, power soccer, rugby, slalom, softball, table tennis, powerlifting, and more.

National Veterans Summer Sports Clinic -The clinic features adaptive surfing, sailing, cycling (hand and tandem), adaptive fitness and kayaking.

National Disabled Veterans Winter Sports Clinic– This clinic features adaptive skiing, sled hockey, scuba diving, rock wall climbing, education and other activities.
